Since 1998, he has successfully financed and developed a wide array of infrastructure, including charter schools, public roads, government facilities, and residential developments. His projects often involve complex tax-exempt financings and ownership structures, with a total value exceeding $1 Billion.
Leadership and Public Service A recognized leader in Florida’s development landscape, Mr. Smith has held several high-profile appointments:
State Governor Appointee: Serves as a Board Member of the Florida Development Finance Corporation.
Non-Profit Leadership: Acts as Director and Treasurer of Building Faith, a non-profit holding over $250 million in educational facilities.
Charter School Pioneer: Appointed to Florida's founding Charter School Review Panel and coordinated the establishment of the state's Educational Facilities Benefit Districts.
Academic Excellence and Community Roots A Florida native, Taylor graduated from Princeton University before conducting graduate studies as both a Fulbright Scholar and a Harry S. Truman Scholar at the Australian National University. Since 1992, he has focused his career in Florida, where he remains an active volunteer leader and teacher in the Jacksonville community. He enjoys spending his time with his wife, Kathi, and their two children.
