For over 30 years, my life’s work has been driven by a simple, enduring belief: that every human being, regardless of the challenges they face, possesses an inherent spark of potential that deserves to be nurtured. When I walk through the doors of the Community Rehabilitation Center, I don’t just see patients or clients; I see my neighbors, our veterans, and our seniors—people who sometimes just need someone to believe in them so they can begin to believe in themselves again.
My journey began at Florida A&M University, but my heart was truly shaped here in Northeast Florida, advocating for those who have often been overlooked by the systems meant to protect them. Whether serving on the Jacksonville City Council or leading the Jacksonville Port Authority, my mission has always been to lead with a servant’s heart. I believe that true leadership isn’t about titles; it’s about using every seat I’ve been given at the table to pull up another chair for someone else.
As the founder of CRC, I feel a deep responsibility to our team of over 60 dedicated individuals and the community we serve. My commitment to you is rooted in faith, civic duty, and the unwavering goal of promoting the goodness in humanity. I am here to ensure that CRC remains a sanctuary where you are treated with dignity, where your health is prioritized, and where we work together to turn barriers into breakthroughs.
